Rainy Days at the Ranch
If you think there's nothing to do at the Ranch on a rainy day, then you should come out and join friends when there is a torrential downpour outside. The group who decided to brave the sheets of rain that ran from the roof, made good use of their time on Saturday. The men built a bamboo roof for the bar, Suzie, Marty, Christa and Lynn raided the storage closet for decor, and Lori found her box of goodies to add the finishing touches to the new area around the bar. Allyson and Scott brought out the chicken for a poolside lunch, while Lynn, Steve, Dan, Ellis, and Lori dined on chicken salad in the cafe. Although the crowd was small in size, much was accomplished in a relatively short time. We even had a visitor who enjoyed the company and watching the rain fill the pool. Don spent much of the morning, fishing in the rain.
Birthdays were celebrated, although somewhat belated, and cake was shared for the birthdays of Shirley and Dan. A fish fry was scheduled for the evening meal, courtesy of Kenn who caught most of the fish in the last Fishfest held at the Ranch. As the afternoon progressed, another cake was being made for Dan's birthday celebration and the crowd in the clubhouse prepared for yet another Foodfest. There is always something to do at the Ranch, whether it's eating, building, eating, laughing, eating, or talking with friends.
