Cabins, Lots & Camp Sites At Bar ~S~ Ranch
When the Bar ~S~ Ranch was started back in 1990, we decided that we did not want to become a rag tag trailer park. As a result, instead of a bunch of run down travel trailers with tacky add-ons, we have our cluster of neat little cabins. We probably could have made more money with the trailers, but the owners and members like the esthetics of the cabins and they blend better with our natural surroundings. Many of our first time visitors are intrigued by the cabins and want more information about them.
The cabins are owned by individual members and are situated on leased lots. The current lease rate for at 50 ft. x 50 ft. lot is $600.00 per year. There is a one time development fee of $2000.00 per lot which offsets the original cost of infrastructure, such as roads, the water system, bath houses, etc. About 20 or 25% of the cabins have been built by their owners. If you don’t feel up to such a project, we have in the pass been able to find someone to do the job for you. The county does require a building permit and they must be built to code.
Most of our cabins have just about all the comforts of home, be it a small home, as we limit the interior area to about 300 sq. ft. While you can make them as plush or as Spartan as you like, they are considered weather protected campsites by the county zoning department. As such they do not have interior plumbing. Instead we use centralized bathhouses.
If a cabin does not meet your needs, we have RV sites, which will accommodate anything from a pop-up to a Class A motor home. RV sites are available with 20, 30 or 50 ampere electrical hook-ups and water. A dump station is available on site. A few sites are available for extended rentals up to eleven months per year (if interested, inquire at the office.)
If the above accommodations exceed your budget at the moment, we have almost unlimited space for tent camping.
Most of our cabin owners are happy to show them off and answer any questions you may have. For any other information that you want, stop by the office or check with the staff.
