Just A Few Reminders
As membership continues to grow at the Ranch, many of us need to be reminded of the desire of many of our members to remain anonymous to members of the textile community. A feeling of panic often is felt when new members join and are recognized by long time members. While most people aren't ashamed of the nudist lifestyle, they don't advertise the fact that they are nudists, due to misconceptions held in the textile community. We must remember that a nudist resort is somewhat like being in Las Vegas, who visits the Ranch, stays at the Ranch. We should never discuss who our members are, what they do, or where they live with any family member who is not a nudist, or with mutual friends in the textile community. Privacy must always prevail.
Granted, as members become friends, we learn who knows of our participation in the nudist lifestyle and who must never know. For some of us, we prefer that our employers/employees not know. For others, it is our parents or children. At some point in time, most of us disclose the location of our weekend retreats to family or friends, but this disclosure should be left up to each individual. If membership is discussed outside of the Ranch, one never knows who knows who, and our privacy is invaded.
Members at the Ranch have become such a close family unit, it is up to each and every one of us to make sure all feel comfortable as new members join. We often forget what it is like to "see" people we know or live with in the textile community in the nudist environment. Let us continue to be diligent in treating all members with the respect of privacy that we so value.
