There are Fish in Lake Wanda!
July 4th was a beautiful day to fish, and after a 90 mile drive, Joe and Fran were the first to arrive and to register for the fishing tournament. It's been at least 15 years since the last one was held and John and Beulah are the only two members who have participated in both. The entry fees of $5.00 each were equally divided between the top five fishermen and all participants received a door prize and the unforgettable experience of having participated.
John and Steve had a busy day running around the lake, measuring all the fish, while Anne tried to keep the tally sheets straight. Lynda was also busy running errands, relieving the "score keeper" and helping out in countless ways!
Depending on who did the counting, there were approximately 224 fish caught. The results are as follows:
Most fish caught: Jump Kenn 57 pan fish & 4 bass
First fish: Ray
Smallest fish: Susan (Susan & David) 4 inches
Biggest pan: Joe (Joe & Fran) 9 1/2 inches
Biggest bass Fran (Fran & Joe) 11 1/2 inches
Drove farthest: Just Jeff & Cheryl 700 miles
Closest: John & Beulah
Second most Clarence
Biggest fish that got away: Jan
Most determined: Lori
Best novice fly fisherman: Dan
The hosts of the fishing tournament, Steve, John, Anne, and Lynda did a miraculous job of keeping the fishermen honest. You know how those fish stories can be exaggerated. Many thanks for the hard work all of you put into the organization, execution, and completion of a fantastic fishing frenzy.
