Things To Do At Bar ~S~ Ranch
Many folks come to the Ranch to rest, relax and unwind from the stress of their hectic lives, others come seeking a more active get away. While stress relief is our most important product, everyone has their own idea about how to achieve it. The Ranch offers a variety of things to do and has something for most everyone. The following is a list of some of the facilities and activities available:
Club House and Pool Area
The club house and pool area is a central meeting area. Available here on the outside are the swimming pool, hot tub, showers, lounge chairs and umbrella tables. The area around the pool fills up fast on the weekends so be sure and get here early. Inside the club house one will find Lisa’s Cafe (which is open for breakfast and lunch on Saturdays and Sundays), an area with exercise equipment, ping pong & pool tables, a library with a pretty good selection of reading material, TV’s and the toilet facilities. The lower area of the club house is also used for parties and activities during inclement weather and the winter season.
Sports Fields
Adjacent and to the south of the club house are the volleyball courts, horse shoe pits and athletic fields. There are usually some pretty lively V’ball games on the weekends with tournament scheduled once a month beginning in April.
Lake Area
Down the slope east of the club house is Lake Wanda, which was named after the better half of the owners. Available at the lake are canoes, paddle boats and several piers which may be used for sunning, fishing and whatever. The fishing in Lake Wanda is usually good as the lake is well stocked with Brim, Shell Crackers and Small Mouth Bass. There is a large grass lawn at the lake which is used for sunning, picnicking and tent camping.
Cow Pasture Golf
No cow patties on our golf course, but it is not quite regulation. It is a big open area with multiple pin positions where you may practice your long clubs and chipping. While we don’t have greens there are cups and flags to play to and our fairways are on par with many public courses. It is a great place to chase the little white ball and in our search for stress relief you do not have to keep score.
Trails and Woodlands
The Ranch has about ten miles of roads and trails crisscrossing 320 acres of rolling meadows and woodlands. Many an enjoyable hour is spent walking, running, bicycling and golf carting these trails. The area is teeming with all manner of flora and fauna. Wild deer and turkey many be seen on most any outing.
As you can see, we have something for almost everyone. Whether it is lounging under a shade tree with a good book, a vigorous game of volleyball, soaking up rays by the pool, waiting by the lake for that next fish to bite or a good run through the woods, there are lots of fun things to do at the Bar ~S~ Ranch.
